The first bursts of red, yellow, and gold foliage begin
to appear in some areas of Kentucky as early as mid-September.
Color changes appear in the eastern regions of the state first and
work toward the west, usually over a period of a week to two weeks.
The average typical peak time is around mid October.
Renfro Valley, KY where the country music stars hold their concerts, including
Dwight Yoakum, my third cousin. Dwight's mother is a Roberts from my family line.
We love going here (an hour from us), as our daughter, husband, three adult children and
their three grandbabies live in Rockcastle, KY. They've been there for about 25 years
and fish at Lake Linville.
